Since pretty much everyone who will read this knows we are having multiples, we'll keep the
history short. Kelly is 8 weeks along, battling morning sickness (her upchuck reflex needs no repairs) and we are trying to get prepared for the time of our lives.
I guess 'battling morning sickness' doesn't give Kelly enough props for soldiering through what must be absolute misery for the last two weeks. Most of you reading have probably had a bad hangover at sometime or another, and everyone has most certainly had the flu. Combine the worst of both and now you feel like Kelly has the past two weeks! It's been rough and hopefully the end of the MS is only a few weeks away.
I won't bore you with the full list of things to do before kids arrive (TTDBKA) but the cool things must be taken care of first.
1) Basement - almost done. It went from this
To this:
If you are wondering, the camera is a little crooked, but the floor has some pretty good slope to it, too! Only things left are a couple of trim pieces and to place the IKEA cabinets.
The next cool thing to do when having multiples is to buy a car! Being my father's son makes me want to analyze things, sometimes more than once. So after spreadsheets, financing calculations and a few hours researching on the internet, we have found our family car (it's not cool because it's a minivan, but it is cool because I could haul a 4x8 sheet of plywood in it or seat 8, or 12 kegs of beer-just an estimate, may be more).
That's it - a Honda Odyssey. We have now entered the suburban zone. It's really a pretty cool car - 244hp, safety features like side-curtain airbags, stability control and front air bag thing that won't deploy if the passenger doesn't weigh a certain amount, and the third row folds into the floor.
Anyway, it's kind of a magical time for us because we are anticipating so much but really enjoying 'our time' right now.
Hopefully things will be uneventful for the next few months. More to come.

Hey guys, I'm so glad you started a blog. I look forward to reading it - and as a bonus, you won't have to deal with me calling you all the time for updates.
And Mike, I don't want to burst your bubble, but somehow I don't think you'll be hauling 12 kegs in your minivan after the kids arrive.
By the way - what clever license plate will you come up with for the Odyssey?
Thanks for the blog as a way to get updates! You will however be hauling 50 cases of Pampers diapers, a lot of strollers and maybe a 12 pack!
We are THRILLED for you al!

Do triplets qualify as a "passel?"
I'm so excited for you, and keep thinking how exciting Christmas and New Year's and Thanksgiving and birthdays will be from now on.
As for the plates -- ITZATRIP ?
Love ya,
L
